October + PPOC.club

Wow, I can't believe it's already October 1st! I feel like the month of September just flew by! It also seems unbelievable that it's October because normally here in the PNW we have lots of rain, lately it's been sunny and some days close to 80°! We've been busy around here trying to clean up the yard and get things ready for the winter. 
Yesterday we dug out all the Halloween decorations and I can't wait to start to get those up! Our neighborhood has a Halloween decoration contest every year so it's really fun to walk the neighborhood and see what everyone has done! This morning I even had time to do an October letterboard! 

Getting all these things done is definitely a little bit harder when the kids are home and I'm having to help them get their schooling done. My son is actually really good and responsible with his schooling, he knows when he's supposed to be online and he completes his work when he's supposed to. I'm blessed that he knows he needs to get it done and he does. 

My daughter's classes are also fairly simple and only last about 15 minutes. She doesn't have much homework and usually does whatever she needs to do while she's in the online class. 


So in-between all these things I'm also continually searching for deals and freebies. One site that I wanted to share was called PPOC club. When I first joined they were in beta. Not everyone is accepted into this club and sometimes it is by invite only. 

You have to fill out a questionnaire in the beginning to see if you are a good fit for their company. They also shut down when they are accepting new people so it is kind of an exclusive thing that's a little bit harder to get into. I know I did share this club with a family member and when she tried to join they said that they were not accepting any new members so she joined the waitlist and has to be accepted. You purchase products through Amazon, when your items ships they refund the item cost and tax. It is a helpful if you are an Amazon prime member because shipping is not refunded through this company. Simple right?


Now I will say, in the beginning basically all I was getting was a lot of vitamins. When I say a lot, I mean that's all I was offered for a while. I had an abundance of vitamins until I realized I could share them with friends and family. Under PPOC rules, that is allowed as long as you make sure that you get a review back from them about the product. After you purchase from Amazon, you send them your order number, and after your item has shipped they send you a refund through PayPal or your bank if you choose. Also, for each item you test you get points on top of your refund. Each point is equal to a penny. So depending on the item or questioner you can earn anywhere from 50 to 200 points. Items are on a first come first serve basis, so it usually seems the better items are earlier in the morning. I have gotten a lot of different items at all different times of day though. 

I've received many items such as vitamins, charcoal toothpaste, mixing bowls, workout items, face creams, eyelash growth serum, shampoo, beard shampoo, self-tanner, nursing cover to so many other things. The range of products that they offer is very wide. I have tested close to $2,500 worth of products. I have been compensated close to $300. I have been a member with them since December of 2019. So while it's not a whole lot in compensation you do get quite a few products to try! Before I started testing with them I never really took any kind of daily vitamin, now that I'm able to get those I get to use a daily vitamin and I honestly feel better than ever! I would highly suggest trying to get on with them when they are accepting new members! They also just recently added a new program with video reviews. You need to go through the PPOC club training to be offered these campaigns. It is very new and I just completed training for it, but it looks like it is video reviews of items and the compensation is the product as well as 1,000-10,000 points or more. So essentially that would be anywhere between $1.00 to $10.00 or more per video.

Homemade cornbread. Perfect as a side for my BBQ pork chili ! I actually used the recipe right off the back of the Albers corn meal box! It's a tried and true recipe that our family loves!  Ingredients : 1 cup white cornmeal  1 cup all-purpose flour 1/4 cup sugar  1 tablespoon baking powder  1 teaspoon salt  1 cup milk  1/3 cup vegetable oil 1 large egg Directions: Preheat oven to 400°. Grease 8 inch square baking pan.  Combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt and a medium bowl. Combine milk, oil and egg and small bowl; mix well. Add milk mixture to flour mixture; stir just until blended. Pour into prepared pan.  Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Serve warm.

Spring pasta salad

This fresh tasting pasta salad has just a hint of lemon for fresh taste that's a perfect pair with most any main dish! We paired this along side this citrus salmon . It was a perfect meal to get ready for spring!  Ingredients: 1/2 pound (about 2 cups) dry pasta 3/4 cup mayonnaise 1 teaspoon mustard 1 teaspoon lemon zest 1/3 cup chopped green onions (whites and greens) 2 Tablespoon chopped fresh parsley 1 Tablespoon chopped fresh dill (or 1/2 teaspoon dried dill) Salt Freshly ground black pepper Instructions: Salt water and boil the ditalini pasta according to package directions. Remove from heat, drain and rinse. Mix in a large bowl: mayonnaise, mustard, lemon zest, green onions, parsley and dill. Reserve about 1/4 cup of sauce mixture. Mix in the cooked pasta while it is still warm. Add salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Chill for at least 2 hours. As the macaroni sits the mayonnaise will be absorbed, before serving ad in the reserved sauce.

Peanut Butter Banana Chocolate Protein Shake

What could be better than chocolate and peanut butter in the morning?!? This is usually my go to shake! It's ones of my favorites! It uses pantry staples that you most certainly have in your pantry already. I've been using Orgain protein powders for years now and they are my favorite. I don't think they have a funny aftertaste and they blend well! Plus they are free from alot of common allergens!  Normally I would use ice in place of the frozen banana, however I happen to have some leftover frozen bananas. Using frozen bananas with give it a much creamier texture than using just ice. of course if you don't have frozen banan just use ice and an unfrozen banana! It's just as good! I like to use bananas that have a good speckle of to them! The bananas are much sweeter when they get to this point. I would t use black bananas though (I save those for banana bread).
